BEST 1000W LED GROW LIGHT:King Plus 1000W LED Grow Light

The Perfect Grow Light

If you are like me, starting up or running an already established indoor greenhouse, then you must know what to look for when buying the perfect grow light. As we know, the indoor plants need the complete light spectrum in order to bloom with quality. Besides sunlight, plants can also receive this light spectrum from proper grow light.

The best grow light must have less electricity consumption and exert less heat when in return as some grow lights that project a high level of heat causes damage to the plant's growth. The durability of the product and the light coverage of the grow light also play an important role when evaluating for the best.
Full Spectrum Light

King Plus 1000W LED grow light provides the full spectrum of light that your plants need for varying stages of growth. It's not just energy efficient; it's very effective with red and blue lights as well as ultraviolet and infrared radiations.

There's a good reason behind the purple or pink light that these affordable LED grow lights emit. They simulate the natural sunlight that your plants love. That is what makes the King Plus 1000W LED grow light suitable for both vegetative and blooming stages of your plants.

The infrared lights promote cell division and the ultraviolet lights disinfect. This paves the way for happier and healthier plants.

The King Plus 1000W uses 10-watt diodes. These ensure good PAR values for areas of approximately 3 by 3 feet from a height of around 24 inches.

Here is the exact break-down of the wavelengths that King Plus 1000W LED grow lights offer:
71 Red diodes (620-630 nm and 655-660 nm)
14 Blue diodes (440-450 nm and 450-460 nm)
8 Yellow diodes (605-620 nm)
5 warm White diodes (3500-4000k)
1 ultraviolet diode (380-410 nm)
1 infrared diode (730 nm)

This smart breakdown of wavelengths emits a light ratio ideal for all stages of plant growth. It also boosts the quality of your harvest. The spectrum of the King Plus 1000W LED is better than many other LEDs, fluorescent bulbs, sodium lamps and metal halide lights out there.
Double Chips

If you take a closer look at the diodes, you might notice that they are different from standard diodes on other LED grow lights. That's because this cheap LED grow light is equipped with powerful 'Double Chips'.

Standard LED grow lights use 3-watt diodes. The King Plus 1000W LED grow light consists of chips with two 5-watt diodes. This unique set up gives it the ability to emit light that is twice the brightness of a standard LED grow light.

You're correct to speculate that these powerful diodes have a good chance of burning your plants. You have to use that light correctly to prevent that. Do no place the light too close to your plants. There is also a chance of your light burning out. However, there are Zener Protectors for each diode of King Plus 1000W grow light. They make sure diodes are resistant to burning out. The Zener protectors will also prevent the entire lamp from burning out in case one single diode burns out. In reality this Zener Protection does not work that great. I have experienced a burnout within the first year of using this light.
Actual power dray and HPS replacing capibility

Although it is a 1000W model (As per name), but that does not indicate its actual power draw. The actual power draw is just 185W. If you spend some seconds in calculating, then you will come to know how much low costing grow light is regarding power consumption. King Plus 1000W LED grow light is capable of replacing a 400W HPS/MH lamp.
Maximum coverage area

Want to know how much growing area is King Plus 1000W LED grow light going to cover? 3.4 x 3.8 ft area from a height of two feet. It will increase or decrease whenever you change the height of the placement. If your grow area is bigger than that, you are going to require more than one unit.
Advantages

The King Plus grow lights was redesigned to use two larger 5 watt Epistar chips together in a single diode. This results in what is basically a 10 watt diode. As such, the light from this fixture will penetrate more deeply into the canopy than the light from a fixture using a single 5 watt chip and much more deeply than any 3 watt chip light.

The PAR value in the center at 24 inches from the canopy is 447 umol. At one foot from center, the PAR value is 313 umol. At the corners 3 feet out, it is 91 umol. The core coverage area at 24 inches is 3 by 3 feet.

If you move the light back to 30 inches from the canopy, you get a PAR value of 230 umol. Moving it closer gets you 595 umol at 18 inches, 958 umol at 12 inches and 1901 umol at 6 inches.

The main reason most LED makers don't use 5 watt or double 5 watt chips is heat output. More powerful diodes naturally emit far more heat than smaller ones. In order to use them effectively, the light fixture must have an efficient cooling system that can handle the increased heat output.

King Plus uses a thickened LED board (3 mm compared to 1.6 mm for other brands) with holes in it to help heat dissipation. In addition to the vents in the board the fixture has two fans and glass form convection, all of which combines to effectively handle the heat generated by the powerful chips.

In total, there are 100 of the 10w double-chips on this fixture. They are a mix of red, blue, UV and IR. The exact breakdown of the color spectrum is as follow: 71 red diodes (620-630 nm and 655-660 nm), 14 blue diodes (440-450 nm and 450-460 nm), 8 yellow diodes (605-620 nm), 5 warm white diodes (3500-4000k), 1 UV diode (380-410 nm) and 1 IR diode (730 nm).

This gives you a great mix of light that is the exact spectrum plants need. It is a spectrum that will work for every stage of plant growth and the addition of IR and UV serves to boost the quality of your harvest. Natural sunlight also contains these wavelengths, but the majority of LED lights don't

All King Plus fixtures ship with a power cord (available for US, UK, EU, AU, JP) and hangers. They also come with a 3-year manufacturers warranty, so you can get your light repaired or replaced if anything goes wrong.
Pros & Cons
Pros
Good price/quality ratio;
Super bright 10 watt full-spectrum diodes;
Energy efficient as it only consumes 180 Watts for an output equivalent to 400 Watt HID light;
Effective cooling system;
Deeper canopy penetration than lights with 3W or 5W diodes;
Less operational costs;
Works in every country running on 85-265V;
The diodes have been rated for a lifespan of 50,000 hours. Equal to 6 years of lighting. Real life experience differs;
This affordable LED grow light comes with a 3-year manufacturer's warranty. That makes it a risk-free purchase as you can get your light replaced or repaired if something goes wrong.
The King Plus 1000W LED comes with a hanging kit and a power cord. That means you can get started growing under this light in quick time.
Cons
The biggest drawback is the misleading name: 'King Plus 1000W LED'. It suggests that this LED is emitting the light of a 1000W HID grow light. It can only match a 400 watt HID lamp;
It's not the most long-lasting light out there with more odds of diode burnouts;
This cheap LED grow light is not suitable for serious or large scale growing operations. There are way better 400W LEDs out there provided for a higher price.
